Back to School Dates and Information
I hope all of our families are enjoying you summer! In less than a month we will start the 2023-24 school year. We are excited for all of our students to be back and look forward to another great school year. Please check out the various information below and mark your calendars for these important events.
PLT Meetings
August 1-15
Your student's Personalized Learning Teacher should be in contact with you between August 1-14 to schedule a meeting. This will allow your student to make sure they have everything they need before school starts. Your PLT can make sure your schedule is set and you have what you need to be ready for the first day.
New Student Onboarding
Tuesday, August 15 9:00-11:30
This event will welcome our new students who are coming to CBHS. Students will spend time getting to know other students, spend some time with their PLT, and enjoy getting comfortable on campus. Optional Lunch Provided 11:30-12:00.
New Parent Onboarding
Tuesday, August 15th at 9:00, Wednesday 8/16 at 4:00, or Thursday 8/24 at 5:00
All parents who are new to CBHS should plan to attend one of the New Parent Onboarding sessions. Each meeting will be the same information and will take approximately 1 hour. We hope this will equip you to support your student and help them succeed throughout their time at CBHS.
CBHS Gear Up Day
Wednesday, August 16 9:00-1:00
This is our first day of school and is a required event for all students and a parent/guardian.
Our welcome back event allows students and parents to:
Sign the Master Agreement
Take School Pictures for the yearbook and student ID cards. (Seniors will need to schedule an appointment for a specific time on Gear Up Day, 9th-11th graders can just show up on Gear Up Day. All students will receive an ID card and additional pictures can be purchased through Ultimate Exposures. Additional information will be provided as Gear Up Day gets closer.)
Receive an updated class schedule for your student
CBHS Student Store (sweatshirts, t-shirts, yearbooks) with specials for that day only!
Tour the School
Meet the teachers and pick up the classroom syllabus for each class your student is enrolled in
Check out the various clubs and activities currently offered at CBHS
This event is an important day as we welcome all of our students back and take care of many of the Back to School tasks to start the school year. This will take approximately 30-45 minutes for you to move through the Open House event. To avoid long wait times, we would prefer if you are able to arrive during your assigned window, but you are welcome to come anytime throughout the morning if the listed time doesn’t work for your family.

Senior Portrait Sessions:
Senior portrait sessions will be offered on 8/16 and 8/31, follow the link below to schedule your sitting. You will select "Yearbook", then "CORE Butte".

IMPORTANT NOTE: You may come to Gear-Up Day at your scheduled Senior Portrait time if the sitting is BEFORE 1pm! If your sitting is AFTER 1pm you must attend the Gear-Up Day event beforehand.
First Day of Center Classes
Thursday, August 17th
This will be the first day of center classes for students. Note: this is different from other local school districts.
Beginning of the Year Assessments (9th-11th Grade Students)
Monday, August 21st 9:00-11:00
All 9th-11th grade students will be taking the ELA and Math iReady assessment. This is a required test for students to complete in the Fall and in the Spring. This allows us to identify needs for support and helps us ensure students are making growth each year.
